Instructional Computing

Support for (otherwise not supported) Software Required for Instruction

(Note: the list of supported software can be found at: http://helpdesk.forestry.oregonstate.edu/software-support)

  • Notify computer support of your needs with eight weeks lead time

    • 8 to 4 weeks before needed -- computer support install and test

    • 4 weeks before needed -- computer support works with instructor to test more completely

    • 1 week before needed -- instructor again thoroughly tests that the software is working as needed for the course

Disk Space for Class Files

  • All student accounts (graduate and undergraduate) will have a mapping to drive T:\Teach\Classes

  • Instructors will be given modify rights to a subdirectory/folder in T:\Teach\Classes for their class files

Student Disk Space and Class Mailing Lists

Lab Machine Guidelines

  • The labs are reserved through your departmental contact person.

  • Remove any software installed locally on the individual machines.

  • Remove desktop shortcuts, files, folders.

  • Report any computer difficulties to the Helpdesk so they have time to resolve them before the next class session.
