FOFEM (First Order Fire Effects Model)

 

FOFEM (a First Order Fire Effects Model) is a computer program for predicting tree mortality, fuel consumption, smoke production, and soil heating caused by prescribed fire or wildfire.

FOFEM is used by resource managers and planners to provide quantitative fire effects information for tree mortality, fuel consumption mineral soil exposure, smoke and soil heating.

Description

FOFEM, the First Order Fire Effects Model, is a computer program developed to meet the needs of resource managers, planners, and analysts in predicting and planning for fire effects.

FOFEM was developed to provide quantitative predictions of fire effects for planning prescribed fires that best accomplish resource needs, for impact assessment, and for long-range planning and policy development.

Installation Instructions

You must have administrator rights to install this program

Install from Q:\Public\FOFEM 6\FOFEM-Instal-6.3.1-July-14-2016\ or download and install from: FOFEM Downloads

1. Run setup.exe

 

2. Welcome to the FOFEM6 Setup Wizard, click Next>

 

 

3. DO NOT USE DEFAULT INSTALLATION FOLDER.  Change the destination to C:\FOFEM6\

4. Click Next>

 

 5. Confirm installation, click Next>

 

 

6.Installing FOFEM ..... be patient

 

7. When installation completed click Close
